It is about to be the Year of the Rooster so pack up the kids and join Sceptre in celebrating the most important holiday in Chinese culture, the Lunar New Year!  Traditionally , homes were thoroughly cleaned to leave behind bad fortunes and to welcome the forthcoming, and hopefully prosperous, New Year. More commonly today, family members come together for a special dinner as a symbol of strength and unity.   After the meal is finished, it is time for some fun and there is no better way to kick off the New Year celebration than at the World Journal Lunar New Year Festival!

The celebration commences on Sat. Jan. 28 – Sun. Jan 29 in Downtown Monterey Park.  Beginning at 10AM and ending at 7PM each day, seven blocks will be filled with entertainment booths, games, and food vendors.  Not only is admission free, but so is parking.  A shuttle bus service will transport you to and from the event to one of two parking lots:

  1. El Repetto Elementary School, 650 Grandridge Ave, Monterey Park, CA 91754
  2. Mark Keppel High School, 501 E. Hellman Ave., Alhambra, CA 91801

Free parking, but no shuttle bus, is also available at: Ynez Elementary School (No shuttle. Free parking only.), 120 S. Ynez Ave, Monterey Park, CA 91754

Be sure to head over to the main stage as World Journal will be giving out plenty of prizes.  Out of a large array of prizes, Sceptre will be supplying Sceptre Sound Pal and McCaron wireless speakers and 4K TVs (65”, 50” and 40”) so do not miss out on all the fun and the chance to win!
